PEEDO was formed in 28th Auguest 1997 in the name of SWEIDOVISION. The organization was formed as a result of various needs that arose in the midst of the crisis situation, where violence and conflict took place in this area in 1990s. The name was changed as PEEDO in the November of 2009 and currently situated at Kovil Road, Thirukovil based in Ampara distric

PEEDO for Economy Development

Our main objective is to alleviate poverty by promoting economic empowerment of rural people for a sustainable livelihood. It was transformed as a separate legal entity by incorporating its services as a limited liability Company under the Companies Act of Sri Lanka.

"To bring about a significant positive change in the socio-economic status of the rural society by offering quality education to the deserving individual.

Mission of PEEDO

PEEDO devotes for the social economical enlistment, creates self employment opportunities paves ways and means for utilization of resources, human rights and democracy etc. Joins hand with the govt. and non govt Organization with mass participation and with the consideration of the current aspiration of the public to fulfill the aspiration of the poor affected people.

Through the enlistment of rural economic development alleviating poverty and creating a community which can maintain the social cultural norms.
